Sleepy Hollow & The Bronx Zoo

Dave returned from a trip to Las Vegas Saturday evening and we thought we were taking the kids skiing at Campgaw Sunday afternoon.  Conditions weren't the best for skiing (too warm, believe it or not), so we took off to explore.  We found Sleepy Hollow, NY where Washingington Irving based his book, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow written back in 1820.  We first explored the area along the Hudson River, the New York side, with its beautiful walking trails, playgrounds and lighthouse.  A sunny day in early February is something to cherish, so we took full advantage.

Alas, Sleepy Hollow and the Sleepy Hollow Cemetary
Afterwards, we took off to the Bronx (our first time!) and visited the Bronx Zoo.  It was a calm and quiet afternoon at the zoo seeing that most people visit in the morning and it is Super Bowl Sunday.  Luckily we were home by 5:00 and are smelling our chicken wings cooking.  Who's ready for some football?!  Our new home has many NY Giants fans, so we are getting a taste of it.
