We were home from England for 4 days before we left for Bethany Beach, Delaware. This was our first visit to a Delaware beach. Dave just returned from work in England (after us) and we left him for the beach. Sorry, Dave, the Berry's await. It was a 5 hour trip down to the beach (with traffic, but only 3.5 hours on the way home). Andy, Michelle, Garrett, Christina and Jake were ready for some play time and so were we! I didn't see it, but Zach pummeled Olivia with the boogie board on their first trip into the ocean.
Hours on end spent playing in the waves
Sea Turtle built this year by Andy's friend
A group of 45 people made it on this trip. This is their 39th annual trip. Andy's swim team friends came every year after swim team finished the season and they still do it to this day....with their own kids:-) I was lucky enough to be invited...with an invitation to come again! Lots of eating, lots of relaxing, I think I WILL 'come again'.
They caught crabs at night
Olivia and Christina
Andy would take the kids out first thing in the morning while Michelle and I cleaned up from breakfast. Tag team them, I say! We all had a blast. Plus, Andy watched/played with the kids while Michelle and I walked or went shopping...Nice!
Beach bum ...Zach played whiffle ball on the beach our first night there.
Friends forever
Andy, his sis and brother, Pat
I want in, mama...says Jake!
A group of the kids on Crab Night....complete with tattoos and glow sticks.
We had a grand time, but had to cut our trip short in order to pack for Seattle and Barry & Carla's wedding in Canada. One day turnaround was in order.... Luckily, the return trip was at night (I left at 9 pm) and it was smooth sailing home to New Jersey with a 3.5 hour ride....except for all of the disco lights on the New Jersey Turnpike! Ugh, enough with the construction around here.
